Family Programs Offered

strengthening families 10-14:
“Parents want to protect their children, but it’s challenging. Youth need skills to help them resist the peer pressure that leads to risky behaviors. Research shows that protective parenting improves family relationships and decreases the level of family conflict, contributing to lower levels of substance use.”

Youth-Centered programs

Student-Led prevention club:
The Student-Led prevention club is established in the Wapato High School. The purpose of this club is to promote health and wellness, help peers feel like they’re not alone, create a positive environment, bring awareness to substance-use prevention & much more! The student group worked on creating a name they felt best suited their work, that’s how “One Voice” came to life.

Curriculum-Based Support Group:
The Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program is offered in schools and community settings to help children and youth ages 4–17 build important life skills. The program focuses on coping with challenges like peer pressure, family stress, and making healthy choices. Through small group sessions, participants learn to set goals, communicate effectively, respect others, and make safe decisions, including avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

Environmental Strategy

Reward and Reminder:
The Reward & Reminder program is a positive community outreach effort that promotes responsible retail practices. Youth and adult volunteers visit local stores to thank clerks who check ID before selling alcohol, tobacco, or vape products and remind those who forget. This educational approach helps prevent youth access, supports local businesses, and strengthens community partnerships.
